Objective:
To find an Engineering or Operations management job in southeast Pennsylvania. I have 15 years of professional work experience with a strong record of advancement through merit. I would like to find a position that will require my engineering, management and business skills.

Foundry Operations Manager ( Jan 2011- August 2012)
- Responsible for the productivity of 25 union production employees (16 direct, 9 indirect) in the pattern shop, molding, core shop, knockout, shakeout, melting & pouring departments.
- Actively manage a core shop supervisor and a melting/pouring supervisor.
Responsible for production planning and scheduling for the foundry, pattern shop, and core production. Actively managed the employee that maintained the foundry scheduling portion of the company’s ERP software, Synchro.
Actively managed the foundry workforce daily to best optimize manpower for the current day’s molding and casting requirements.
Solve and remedy production problems as they arise on a daily basis. Leverage my engineering knowledge to quickly determine the root cause of production problems and formulate the most effective solutions on the fly.
Dynamic involvement in the logistics of all foundry processes. Experience managing the production of several low quantity jobs simultaneously.
Gauge my own personal performance by walking the foundry floor to ensure that every employee is being productive and that no chokes pop up in the production process.


Engineering Manager (2002-2010)
- In a Support/Advisory role to the V.P. of Operations managed Environmental Compliance, the production process and leveraged experience and engineering knowledge to recognize and resolve production and product problems.
- Discovered and developed cost-cutting opportunities and plans to streamline operations and improve efficiencies.
- Created a mathematical/CAD procedure for accurately predicting spring-back in bending and forming operations. New bending dies were designed and made that cut precisely without guesswork.
- Worked closely with Foundry & Melt Supervisors to change the production process to decrease raw material costs saving $150k.
- Created an MS Access database to input historical data on scrap and production information that produced a computerized tracking of scrap and production that was used for analytical and planning purposes.
- Saved $150K/year by suggesting and proving changes in the melting process for the manufacture of ductile iron. It lowered production costs.
- Led strategy and brainstorming sessions to develop design ideas for a new product line. Designed the product so that it could be manufactured under the desired cost constraints without sacrificing quality and was used by commercial and government customers.
- Managed the conversion from AutoCAD to Solid works for part design. Led the process of loading Solid works models into Mastercam for in-house tooling production.
Design Engineer (1997 – 2001)
- Designed multi-component ornamental outdoor lighting posts using materials: steel aluminum, ductile iron and grey iron in the form of highly complex castings, pipe, plate, flat-stock tapered tubes and extrusions.

Handled all structural design and performance tests on manufactured product to verify design strength.
Recommended varied methods of manufacture and/or product redesign when problems were found.
Performed AASHTO structural calculations using self-created MS Excel Spreadsheets and MS Access database.
