Histotechnician Sample Resume

Objective:
To use the skills I have to help patient care.


Experience:
Successful completion of 8 week clinical rotation at Baylor Dallas; Spring 2011
Cut IHC controls, embed and cut practice tissue
Performed several special stains by hand and on automated stainers, cut frozen tissue on cryostat, assisted in the gross room and accessioning, spent a week in IHC—entering specimens into computer and loading Leica and Dako machines.

Successful completion of 6 week clinical rotation at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas TX; Summer 2011
Cut and embed practice tissue, cut frozen sections on cryostat, assisted in IHC and Cytology– loaded Gyn specimens and hand stained Gyn and non-Gyn. (thin-prep)
Cut brain in Neuro and performed 5 stains at once-Luxol Fast Blue, PAS, Cresyl Echt Violet, H&E, and PTAH.
Put slides on and off Ventana machine.
Performed special stains by hand, Fite, PAS, VVG, etc.
Cut and embed practice tissue
Cleaned processors and refilled supplies and paraffin holders

Successful completion of 8 week clinical rotation at Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas, TX; Fall 2011
Cut and embed patient tissue
Performed special stains by hand– PAS, Prussian Blue, VVG, Von Kossa, Warthin-Starry
Helped clean and set up lab in gross room
Cut frozen sections
Set slides on automated H&E stainer and cover slipped by hand and automated coverslipper
Practiced safety regulations for lab
Cleaned processors and refilled supplies and paraffin holders
